Long time user, had some issues with new iphone and purchases coming over. Support fixed the issue right away. The only thing that would make it better for me, make outlook task sync to be more complete. Thank you

I use OmniFocus latest version on my Mac; previous version on my phone. To get the two versions to match would cost me another 50 bucks, as of this writing. This app offers a good deal more than OmniFocus, such as being able to view, manipulate or integrate with numerous single-purpose apps. BIG plus. However, since it requires many add-on purchases that are confusing and not immediately obvious whether or not you have "the full boat", AND a subscription to actually USE and RELY on the product the way its marketed & sold, Ill only be able to give it a proper evaluation after Ive figured out how to buy all the pieces. I believe the developer should offer full access to the app "in all its glory" as others to do: for a trial period long enough for the serious customer to get it configured properly and use it, to see if it suits their needs. But, since they dont offer such a trial (and, ideally tutorial video) and I havent figured out what all I need to buy and then how all of this stuff needs to be configured… I cant really make a fair evaluation of the app "The [My] verdict is still out". IF I pursue this product, and get it to the point where its integrated appropriately so that I can really "make use of", and rely upon it--as the developers apparently intended--then, as I have the time, I will "review" the app again with my findings and an opinion as a serious user. But for now, as best I can tell: 1. Its as solid as any OmniGroup product. 2. It has a very strong user base that goes back to the Palm Pilot days of task management app. 3. Pocket Informant offers a lot more than OmniFocus in one tidy app. END. DW
Ok, first off, this app does do most everything i want it to do. However. Its expensive, cumbersome, and has a lot of quirks. It crashes far too often, the syncing is hard to set up so there arent duplicate tasks (even between iphone and ipad!) and the interface is far from clean and easy. After putting in considerable time and money, I am reluctant to switch to another calendar app. I just wanted a calendar app with integrated to-do list and the ability to schedule tasks! Is that so hard to do? You cant delete one instance of a recurring task. It deletes it all. You can, supposedly change the date completed on tasks- I did it once but cant figure out how to do it again.
I had the same issue being asked to buy different function packages when I upgraded to IPhone 7 (through backup restore). For other long term supporters who encountered the same issue, just remove the app and reinstall from the App Store, you will get all the features back like before.
I think these guys are trying to do too much. It was a nice app to begin with – but now theyre tripping over themselves. They are supposedly releasing a new version for iOS 10 – but its going to be a new app and we will have to pay all over again ( so far theyve just warned us – they havent told us how much its going to cost! ) In addition, I have already paid for the macOS version – but they still have not integrated contacts into the calendar - the most basic benefit of PI when you compare to other calendar apps ( and it wasnt cheap ). Just beware what you buy now will be left behind in a couple of weeks.
Dont buy it. They are releasing a new, subscription based app in a few weeks. Much like having to re-buy tasks, youll pay again (and again). This seems to be the new recipe to get sales. Instead of being creative and building new apps, developers are re-releasing apps as subscription based.
It is the most useful calendar available for iOS. It does have any learning curve, however all the advanced features can be turned off and is still better then the others. I have a number of advanced features turned off so that I can stick with the internal Apple calendar. The wealth of tools available even than is wonderful.
Ive been an PI user even before it was on iOS, so Im a huge fan. As much as I like current PI, change is coming. PI5 is going to be a subscription based app, so prepare to pay and pay and pay for this app. This new pricing model is a money grab. I wish them well with it, but Ill be looking for a replacement that doesnt try to dig into my pocket annually.
There were some bugs at the beginning of 2016 but those have all been fixed and the app works well for me.
I hate that they upgraded and I had to pay $4.99 just to get my tasks and projects back.
Going to be going to a subscription based calendar? I dont know why anyone wants a subscription for an app that is pretty much dormant and doesnt give me much of anything in return. Its like paying somebody to watch me sleep. Ive used informant for years from my Blackberry days. I wont any more.
...a SUBSCRIPTION model. So you can waste $15 like me and so many others, then have it slowly slipped out from under you. Soon to be gouged for $15/year!
Does everything I could imagine. Absolutely great.
The project were perfect with the schedule, but when I add he photo it became stuck, errors cant run anymore unless I removed and installed again. :(
This was my favor calendar until they decided to charge $15.00 for the upgrade! I have lost all those features that now they are extras for a fee. The price for the so call subscription is absolutely outrageous in price. Now I see nothing special about it. I went to FANTASTICAL calendar and deleted this one. Good redance : Informant calendar. The people behind this app probably think we are stupid or naive. . I do not recomend this calendar anuymore.
Well, Informant has always been a good app for me, until the last update. I was just checking my calendar, and Informant suddenly decided to jump to the calendar store, and it is stuck there. Each time I try to close out of that section in order to go back to the Calendar or Tasks tabs/sections, it just "springs" back to the calendar store again, never even giving me an opportunity to tap on anything else. :( Quick fix, please, Informant, so I can go back to giving you a higher rating than one star...? • • • • • • • • UPDATE 2026-11-17: Youve done it again, PI — only this time, in the name of it being a "new design/app" for iOS X. So, now, youve suddenly stripped away a bunch of features that I paid $14.99 for earlier, and now youre trying to charge me that amount *AGAIN* just to get those features back? "But its a whole new design," you say? Then sell it as a whole new app, and leave my frickin app alone, which I had already paid for! I didnt have a choice! It automatically updated to your latest version, and I cant go back. After selling all the upgrades to me as a "one-time purchase," I expect only to pay that *one* time! Anything else that requires me to pay again for the *same features* is outright theft, PI.
Visual design team: excellent. Love the design. Engineering team: careless, or maybe overworked. App tends to be slightly buggy, but has been for years. They’re more focused on new features and re-designs than getting it 100% right and having a rock-solid app. Tech Support team: crappy. Slow, careless responses, often inadequate.
No wants to LOVE this app more than I do!! Upgrades are supposed to offer new features and/or fixes, but they are constantly breaking (unintentional consequences), or removing (intentionally) features to supposedly improve the program I am tired of the constant ups and downs. Its just not worth it!! Try something that is more reliable.
Ive tried for two days to get this app to work. I even paid for the $1.99/mo subscription to unlock premium features. First I paid for the subscription and it did not unlock any features until I set up some account using my browser, which I knew nothing about until I messaged support and they sent me the link. Once I worked that out, the app still freezes or freezes my entire phone and I need to restart. Every time the today widget loads it restarts my phone. I really wanted this to work because this app looks awesome but I need an app that makes my life easier, not one that gives me a mess to untangle.
Ive been using versions of this product since the days it was on my Dell Pocket PC. These folks have been writing this type of software for a long time, on many different platforms. I havent found a better app out there. I run my work and home life off it.
