Neglecting iOS 7 support

I bought this app several years ago, and have been satisfied with its many functions, but the latest upgrades dont work with iOS 7, and some of us still using iPhone 4 or iPad 2 have been warned off upgrading to iOS 8. The most recent update is supposed to be compatible with iOS 7, but both my devices crash with this upgrade. Poor support from a not-inexpensive app.
